ConvertKit For Beginners: Why I Switched From Aweber to ConvertKit

This is the initial segment of our ConvertKit email showcasing arrangement.

I have been utilizing Aweber for just about five years and had no issues in term of ease of use or sending messages to my endorsers.

A year ago (2015), when I dispatched my first eBook (Affiliate advertising eBook), I began perusing about development hacking the deals. One thing which I learned in this procedure is making a channel and utilizing email showcasing to build deals.

This is the place I understood that it is so imperative to fragment and tag my email endorsers. Obviously, I can make a channel utilizing Aweber, yet it's not straight forward to design. Furthermore, this is the point at which I began searching for a flawless contrasting option to Aweber.

In view of my examination I discovered two great present day email showcasing administrations (EMS):

Trickle and ConvertKit.

Them two looked rock strong. I may have bought Drip due to its promising point of arrival which works really well with an amateur eBook dealer like me, yet I at long last arrived with ConvertKit subsequent to perusing a great deal of surveys on Quora.

Beginning with ConvertKit:

ConvertKit is becoming greater as far as the quantity of clients and mix.

A couple focuses which made me buy ConvertKit:

LeadPages mix which is vital for me as a LeadPages client.

Simple Digital Downloads mix. This undertaking is simple with an extra worth just $28.

I chose to begin utilizing ConvertKit for a bit of my email advertising (particularly for my eBook promoting), and acquired the apprentice arrangement which cost about $29/month for the initial 1000 supporters.

Note: I have moved the fundamental ShoutMeLoud email rundown to ConvertKit. You can see the video guide at the base of this post.

When I began utilizing ConvertKit, I understood that it's easy to utilize and more intense than Aweber or other email promoting administrations .

A couple of contrasts amongst ConvertKit and email showcasing administrations like Aweber, GetResponse and MailChimp:

ConvertKit has "Grouping and Tags" rather than "rundown" which is a typical phrasing for GetResponse or Mailchimp clients. Nonetheless, "Succession and Tags" are all the more intense to utilize.

In Aweber, I needed to pay for unsubscribed clients. It was an agony and made a major opening in my pocket. Be that as it may, ConvertKit does not charge you for unsubscribed clients.

In Aweber, if a client (suppose you) subscribes to my two diverse email records (one for the learner blogging course and another for the propelled course), you will be seen as two email endorsers rather than one.

What are "labels" in ConvertKit?

The tag is a touch of metadata added to an endorser's profile to track their movement or inclinations. Labels can be utilized to monitor buys, what a supporter is keen on (e.g. plan versus showcasing), how connected with they are (clicked a connection in a dispatch succession) and where they were foreign made from. A supporter can have a boundless number of labels.

I will talk about this in detail when we cover “Tags & Automation”, but for now, let’s understand the basics. In the coming days, I will also show you how you can use ConvertKit to improve your eBook sales or any product that you are offering.

But before that…

Let’s get started with ConvertKit. Once you are logged into your ConvertKit account, this is how the dashboard will look:

Please keep in mind that this is a brand new ConvertKit account & I will be setting everything up as we move ahead in this series.
Forms let you create either a landing page or a web signup form, and using either of them you can get an email subscriber.

When you click on forms, you have two options:

–  Landing Page:

Create a landing page (you can host it on your own domain using the free ConvertKit WordPress plugin). You have four pre-built landing page design options to select from. If four designs are not enough for you, you can opt between LeadPages or OptimizePress.

–  Form (The Entry Point):

The second option is to select from three different styles of the web form. Creating & integrating an email signup form is easy & you can do it within minutes. If you have a developer handling all your website development tasks, you can share the signup form code with him/her too.

When you create a form, you can offer your eBook or any other free download material that you are offering. This is a very handy Lead Magnet.

Authors can offer a few pages of their eBook for free & after that, they can run their email sequence to convert leads into customers (…more on that in the coming days).

Click on Twitter cards & you can start generating leads from Twitter with a few clicks. This is something all of us have been looking to do for a long time & now it’s just a few click away with ConvertKit.

These are just a few of many options from the Forms feature on ConvertKit.
If you have used Aweber or MailChimp before, you must be aware of Sequence already. On Aweber, it’s popularly known as a “follow-up sequence” & on MailChimp, it’s known as “automation”.

If you have used Aweber or MailChimp before, you must be aware of Sequence already. On Aweber, it’s popularly known as a “follow-up sequence” & on MailChimp, it’s known as “automation”.

Sequence is what makes these email marketing services (EMS) so lucrative. Once a user signs up for your email newsletter, they automatically receive emails using Sequence (autoresponders). This saves a lot of time & your email marketing is more or less on automation.

Email sequence is the place where you need to spend the maximum amount of your time. Once you have setup your sequence properly, after that, it’s all a joy ride.

In my case, I simply copied my email sequence from Aweber to ConvertKit.
Broadcasts let you send out an instant email or schedule a future email to all your subscribers. You have the option to exclude users based on forms, tags, & other ways.

Regarding broadcasts, you can use it to announce an epic post that you have just published on your blog, or you can send time sensitive offers. In my case, I often send special tips & suggestions to my eBook buyers.

This is the place you can see the rundown of supporters. For the individuals who are moving from Aweber, GetResponse, or whatever other email administration supplier, you can import your current supporters. When you are importing, guarantee that you add labels to section your rundown. For instance, for my situation, I imported my rundown from Gumroad and labeled them as Gumroad purchasers. (You can allude to this manual for take in more about importing email endorsers of ConvertKit.)

Tip: Ensure that you begin labeling from the very first moment or else you could pass up a major opportunity for the advantage of division.

Computerization (The force of Email Marketing):

Computerization is one thing that is making clients move their email showcasing administration from Aweber or MailChimp to ConvertKit. With computerization you can do numerous things.

Here's a couple:

At the point when a client finishes an email arrangement, you can move the client to the following email succession.

At the point when a client taps on a specific connection in your email grouping or show, you can label them.

Case: When your supporter taps on a connection in your telecast which takes the client to a business page, it will consequently tag the client as intrigued by your item (you just need to set this up once). From here, you can begin sending them email arrangements identified with your item.

I hope this gives you a good overview of what ConvertKit (or any other email marketing service) can do for you. As I said above, this is the first post in our email marketing series & more will follow soon.
